The Agri assist Carbon Footprint Tool was developed by DCD Ltd with its partners - the Centre for Sustainable Energy, AEA and the Carbon Trust.

Through a period of two years the Agri assist Carbon Tool has been developed, tested on DCD farms and received validation to full PAS2050 standards through the Carbon Trust Label Company (Jan 2010). It offers a complete interactive experience to deliver Carbon equivalent results per litre, per cow and per hectare.

In addition, Agri assist along with FWAG has developed a complimentary environmental aspects page to be completed along side of the data entry process.

Before entering your data you will need to have information at hand for a 12 month period regarding your dairy stock numbers and ages, feed, crops, electricity, fertilizer, fuel inputs etc.

Experience suggests that it is most convenient to dovetail your 12 months data entry with your financial year. Also, as the Tool will provide you with a Carbon Footprint for milk, if you have mixed enterprises on your farm you will need to ensure that appropriate divisions of land, crops and inputs pertinent to the dairy enterprise (including replacements) only are entered.

You will generate your own summary results once all of the data has been entered.

Please take care when you enter your information, a proportion of all Footprints will receive an audit to ensure accuracy of data entry.
